Join the Alaska Coalition on Housing and Homelessness (AKCH2) and the Mat-Su Youth Action Board (YAB) for its second basketball camp for high school students. This two-day summer camp features expert trainers from AKElevate, who have successfully developed athletes from elementary to college levels. Participants will gain valuable exposure for Alaskan athletes through networking and social media.
Our focus for the basketball camp will be the following:
Strength and Conditioning - Goat setting, mobility, injury prevention, movement mechanics, basketball-specific strength and conditioning.
Fundamental basketball skills - Shooting, ball handling and balance, footwork, and reducing basketball violations (travel, double-dribble, etc.), and tips on how to excel and succeed at a higher level
Team concept and collaboration - Understanding your role, embracing collaboration, holding oneself and teammates accountable, backing up goals with actions
